PHYS 180 Final Essay • A rather philosophical essay on physics, while also linking it to our human concepts of language. I think it's alright. Grade: A+
PHIL 240 Final Essay • A perhaps pretentious essay for my class on political philosophy, focusing on care for others and education in a world with so little emphasis on love. I think it's alright. Grade: A
PHIL 306 Final Essay • An essay analyzing Putnam's own essay on robots and whether or not they are - or should be spoken about as - conscious. It sometimes becomes difficult to parse some of my long sentences, but I do like the way it sounds in my head. I think it's alright. Grade: A-
SOCI 321 Essay • An essay on my perspective as a male cashier in a grocery store. Hoschild's work on Emotional Labour is often referred to in a strong and unnuanced way, and the terms get thrown around loosely. I attempt to bring nuance to the conversation, showing that Emotional Labour is not a "great evil" that people on blogs constantly point to. Not standard essay structure, but I enjoyed writing it. I think it's not too bad.
LING 320 Final Essay • An essay on bilingualism in Canada throughout its history and how language planning in Quebec hurts people instead of helping the French language. I think it's alright. The prof called it "enthusiastic and spirited but somewhat rambling and loosely constructed". Grade: B
LING 531 Final Paper • A paper on phonological processes in Bulgarian and how some of them interact, sometimes resulting in phonological opacity. I also argue throughout the paper that Bulgarian orthography is an anchor for speakers of the language, even thought orthography is often disregarded in other phonological work. Good content, but not very good academic writing, unfortunately. I enjoyed writing it, however. I think it's not too bad.
tea cup • A table with every phonological feature for every segment. Usefull to Ctrl+F and see which segments are natural claxses through shared features
tea cup • See your future in the tea leaves.
Boissons • Collection of poems written by a bunch of depressed 16 years old students back in 2021-2022. Most poems reference events and people from our school at the time. Third parties are welcome to read, but are not expected to understand. This is, in some way, just a bunch of pretty garbage, and I love it.
Ling Nodes • Node map of the the linguistics classes at McGill. (This is a w.i.p. It does not provide any usefull information for now. I was just testing a potential application of html node maps).
